Acceptable Use of Technology at OUSD

WOMS Online Expectations:

  • Mute your MIC!: Once you are on the mtg, mute yourself until it is time for you to participate. When your microphone is not muted, avoid activities that could create additional noise, such as shuffling papers.
  • FOCUS your CAMERA: be sure it is in a stable position and focused at eye level, if possible. Doing so helps create a more direct sense of engagement with other participants.
  • Be on Time: Teachers have scheduled their lesson online, just as they have scheduled it during in-person school. We take attendance and want to use every minute wisely!
  • Use the Chat Wisely: Don’t start chats with other students while instruction is happening. Use the chat button at designated times, determined by your teacher.
  • Don’t get Distracted: You can make it easier to focus on the meeting by turning off notifications, closing or minimizing running apps, and muting your smartphone.
  • Don’t multi-task: If you’re texting during the meeting/class, you won’t remember it as well.
